Brandie Janow
Brandie Janow is a researcher, strategist, futurist, and advisor whose work advances innovation at the intersection of design, culture, and creative economies. Her research has concentrated on the Saudi creative sector, with a focus on the design industry, examining its development alongside wider changes in education.
She studied Visual Communication Design at the Art Institute in Chicago and later Speculative Design and Futurism at Parsons School of Design, where her focus evolved toward futures thinking and systems.
Currently, Janow serves as a Strategy and Cultural Development Advisor at Rukun. She is the founder of Knowledge of Design, a global cross-disciplinary STEAM initiative, and Kingdom Creatives, Saudi Arabia’s largest grassroots community for creatives and a think tank documenting the evolution of the Kingdom’s emerging industries.
Active across academic, industry, and international communities, Janow serves on the Iowa State University College of Design Advisory Board and was selected for the Business Council for the Arts’ 2026–2027 Leadership Arts Institute in Dallas. She has served as a design awards judge, mentored designers across 21 countries, and been recognized through design, leadership, and business awards. Her ideas and projects have appeared in international publications, media, and public programs, and her selected engagements include SXSW London and MANUVO’s Futures Design Accelerator.
